"Bookshop Travel has made the Paris and Bali writing tours work like a dream. Every detail is attended to, every wonderful idea is realised." Patti Miller, Writer and Tour Director
While living in an apartment in Paris you learn the art of writing in the mornings from Australia’s best memoir writing mentor, Patti Miller. Explore the streets of this amazing city, soak up the Parisian atmosphere, sample delicious French cuisine and check out gorgeous shops and attractions. It is early autumn, the traditional season of memory and reflection, the cafes buzz with discussion – and your heart and mind sing with the richness of history, beauty and pleasure as you step out of your own apartment on the way to class. This is 17 days that could change your life.
"The personal nature of the service I received impressed me. Bookshop Travel listened to what I wanted and linked me to local people in Vietnam who delivered just what I hoped for."
The Balga to Boab Aboriginal Youth Leadership program is community driven and evolved out of desire to develop strong young Aboriginal leaders whilst young people are still at school. Through consultation with Aboriginal communities the goal is to expose young people to another culture and observe attitudes of school students in Siem Reap where education is not taken for granted nor is it a right but rather a privilege. The Balga and Boab trees have spiritual significance and represent strength, life, growth, being well rounded and resilience. All qualities to develop in this initiative.
Carol Crennan is an experienced travel professional who understands the needs of clients and who can tailor a wonderful itinerary to suit. She demands excellence in everything she does, can navigate cross-cultural issues and provides a delightful experience to everyone going on the trip.
Formerly an independent bookseller, Carol closed her store, Kirribilli Books, when she identified a need in the market for highly specialised travel.
“I noticed a trend in people wanting more out of their travel,” she says. “Increasingly, people want travel options with a difference. Many want to combine travel with cultural or learning experiences. That’s how Bookshop Travel was born, and for the past 10 years we have been delivering unique, sometimes life changing, learning experiences.”
Bookshop Travel runs its own tours in conjunction with local professionals who are leaders in their field, and whom are ethical tourism operators.
Bookshop Travel traditionally specialises on literary and focused learning experiences. In 2017 we will lead a small group to China and explore traditional matriarchal societies and cultures of the Sichuan region. This Hidden China tour will be led by Lydia Feng.
